Jim Kelly

Jim serves as the Senior Executive for the company as well as a member of the Board of Directors, with direct responsibility for creating and directing the strategic and operational initiatives for Elk Mountain Lumber and its portfolio companies on behalf of its owners.  Jim also manages the lead generation efforts for acquisition and investment targets and oversees the integration of those targets post-investment.

Preceding his role with Elk Mountain, Jim was the President of the Lincoln Companies, consisting of Lincoln Lumber, King Lumber and Lincoln Logistics, where he grew the enterprise from a locally focused operation to a multi-state, modernized lumber wholesale, remanufacturing and distribution operation during his tenure.  Prior to his corporate experience Jim served as a Sniper in the US Army, deploying to Iraq with the 4th Infantry Division in 2003 before to returning to school to complete his education.

Jim graduated Summa Cum Laude from Sam Houston State University with a BBA in Finance and earned an MBA from Mays Business School at Texas A&M University, where he served as the President of the MBA Association.  Jim is a member of the Houston Chapter of YPO and serves as Chairman of the Veteran Leaders Forum.

Jim’s personal time is spent with his wife and 3 kids, and he enjoys golfing, hunting, fishing and mentoring transitioning veterans in his spare time.
